Our First Capital Pennsylvania Chapter of PDK will once again be presenting awards to outstanding educators within our chapter, as well as our community. Award recipients will be recognized at the May 13th chapter meeting. Your commitment in nominating deserving educators for each of our awards would be greatly appreciated.  The chapter Awards Committee will select award recipients on the basis of a careful review of the nominations for each award.

Please take a few minutes to review the enclosed applications. You will find nomination forms for six different awards. The Service Key, a national PDK recognition, and the Chapter Award are given exclusively to chapter members for service to the organization. The other awards, Outstanding Student Teacher, Outstanding First Year Teacher, and Outstanding Educator are open to all educators in our York-Adams County area.  The Executive Board created the Dr. Eugene P. Segro Memorial Outstanding Principal Award in 2004 to honor Gene’s contribution as a true instructional leader.

The success of our awards program depends upon the cooperation of our chapter members. Please nominate someone you believe is worthy of any of these honors. As educators, it is essential that we take the time to acknowledge excellence and achievement within the field of education. Certainly there are many outstanding educators in our community who deserve to be recognized. Please help us with this important endeavor.
