First Capital Chapter 1557 - Phi Delta Kappa

                       Our Current Newsletter is here!

Fellow Kappans,

Happy 2009! As an organization, we are preparing for our final two meetings of
the year and continually looking to take First Capital Chapter to new heights.
We will be welcoming Beverly and Troy Strayer on the evening of April 21, 2009 at
the Outdoor Country Club to share strategies for differentiating reading and writing
instruction. This will be our first event co-sponsored with the South Central Reading Council!
At last count, they’ve presented essential information about differentiated instruction at no
fewer than four national educational conventions. Please consider joining us and bringing a
friend or two as we participate in this incredible presentation by our wonderful local
presenters.

The Annual Awards and New Member Initiation Meeting will be held on May 13,
2009, at Heritage Hills. I strongly recommend that you consider nominating individuals for
the wonderful PDK awards and introduce PDK to your colleagues. As always, we are
looking for new members who wish to contribute to the First Capital Chapter of Phi Delta
Kappa.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for your involvement in PDK!
As I pass the reins of President on at the end of the year, I am thankful for all of the
wonderful opportunities that this organization offers to our local educators. We are so blessed
to have such talented and dedicated educators in our community. Thank you for all that
you do!

Please feel free to contact me with any ideas relative to our chapter. I hope to see you on April 21st.
